FAQs

is Direct Primary Care?

What

  • Does Stutts Family Health and Wellness accept insurance?
No, we don't accept insurance, which is why we can offer high-quality, affordable care that you can rely on. However, you can check with your insurance company to see if your HSA card can be used for your monthly membership fee payments as we are providing medical care. By not accepting insurance payments, we can work directly with you and make healthcare decisions that are in your best interest. In contrast, accepting insurance payments would require us to consult with insurers to approve or deny treatments and to determine the cost of your care. The Direct Primary Care (DPC) model enables us to provide personalized care that is tailored to your needs, with no deductibles, surprise bills, or costly co-pays.
  • Will I still need insurance?
It is encouraged but not necessary to become a member of Stutts Family Health and Wellness. We recommend a high-deductible, low-premium insurance plan to cover potential emergency room visits and hospital stays (although our goal is to keep you out of both, we understand that unexpected events can happen!). When it comes to seeing specialists, getting labs, medication, or imaging, we can use your insurance plan when it makes the most sense for you. However, we take the time to compare pricing and figure out the best deal for you. At Stutts Family Health and Wellness, we prioritize your well-being and work collaboratively to ensure you receive the care that is tailored to your specific needs.
  • What about blood work, medications, and imaging?
One of the benefits of Direct Primary Care (DPC) is complete price transparency. We have worked closely with local labs and imaging centers to provide you with the lowest possible cash price for their services. Although you can use your insurance for labs or imaging if it makes more sense, cash pricing may sometimes be the more cost-effective option. In addition, we stock basic medications in our office and offer them to you at wholesale cost. At Stutts Family Health and Wellness, we believe that you deserve to know the cost of your care before making any decisions. Just like you wouldn't let a mechanic work on your car without knowing the price beforehand, you'll know the price before deciding on anything with us. We strive to provide a refreshing healthcare experience that puts you first. Contact us today to learn more about our personalized and affordable healthcare services.
  • What if I decide to cancel my membership?
You have the option to sign up for a monthly membership or pay in advance for a yearly subscription and save $100. However, we understand that situations can change, and it's not a problem at all. We simply ask that you provide us with a thirty days' notice so that we can address any loose ends and give you ample time to find another doctor. If you choose to pay annually and decide to cancel before the end of the year, you will receive a refund of the remaining balance immediately. At Stutts Family Health and Wellness, we believe in fair and transparent business practices, and we want to ensure that you're satisfied with your healthcare experience.

Direct primary care (dpc) is an innovative healthcare model designed to address rising healthcare costs, confusion, and frustration around insurance coverage, and the rushed, impersonal nature of traditional primary care settings. With dpc, we eliminate the middleman and provide quality healthcare for a fixed monthly fee. Since we no longer have to consult with insurance companies on prices and coverage, we can offer personalized care that truly meets your needs.

Your membership grants you access to same-day or next-day appointments, 30-90 minute office visits, streamlined communication with your doctor, minimal wait times, and complete price transparency. With dpc, you can say goodbye to rushed, impersonal visits and hello to a healthcare experience that prioritizes your well-being.
